Day 7 of the 2025 Controller General of Customs (CGC) Volleyball Premier League first phase produced exciting battles across both the women’s and men’s categories, with giants asserting dominance and underdogs fighting bravely.
In the women’s division, Nigeria Customs Service proved too strong for NSCDC, cruising to a 3-0 victory (25-23, 25-20, 25-14). Benue Queens overpowered Wikki Spikers in another straight sets win (25-15, 25-13, 25-18), while the Nigerian Navy (CNS) outclassed COAS Spikers 3-0 (25-19, 25-21, 26-24). LifeCamp Angels dug deep to defeat Anambra Queens 3-1 (25-18, 21-25, 25-15, 25-23), as Kada Queens staged a remarkable comeback from two sets down to edge Nigeria Air Force 3-2 in a pulsating five-set thriller (25-21, 27-29, 23-25, 25-20, 15-11).
The men’s category was no less dramatic. Nigeria Police Force recovered from a set down to beat Nigeria Correctional Service 3-1 (23-25, 25-21, 26-24, 25-19).
NSCDC Spikers maintained their strong form with a 3-0 sweep of Kano Pillars (25-23, 25-19, 27-25), while COAS Spikers brushed aside UCEM Spikers 3-0 (25-19, 29-25, 27-25). Sunshine Spikers shone brightly against Offa, winning 3-1 (25-21, 25-19, 22-25, 25-23), and Nigeria Correctional Service bounced back in their second fixture to humble NAF 3-0 (25-22, 25-21, 25-16). Rounding off the day, Kada Kings stunned CNS Spikers 3-1, recovering after the first set (19-25, 25-18, 25-17, 25-11).
With every passing game, the race for supremacy in Nigeria’s top-flight volleyball league grows tighter, as defending champions, perennial contenders, and hungry challengers continue to serve up high-quality action in the nation’s capital.
